oh god that's not even infeasible /facepalms forever

A lot of statues or mirrors and whatnot are kept intentionally secret because it's believed that exposing them to daylight and common sight would lessen their power or actually be dangerous. There's some paintings like that too. So some of these artifacts LITERALLY haven't been seen in hundreds of years, and it's only belief that says what's there.
