[RL - forward-dated to the 11th. Kid visiting.]
Issei let out a sigh as they left the dining room. "I apologize for my father and brother's behavior," he said, blushing slightly. "They have very... open personalities. It's an admirable quality, when they aren't talking about things I would rather have them hide..."
Really, were all of those embarrassing personal stories about him necessary? Issei loved them dearly, and all, but honestly. He had to talk to this person again.
"They only said such things because they wanted you to relax and feel comfortable with us," he admitted, "so I suppose I can forgive them for that. Now that dinner is over, how would you like to spend your visit?"

Not to mention he was grateful they didn't ask him to remove his hat and monocle at the dinner table, too.
"Your family is kind to be willing enough to host an criminal for dinner."
no subject
No, that was too self-deprecating. Kid most likely wanted him to be his usually-cheerful self, not sour the mood. Really, what was he doing?
"The question still stands, Kid. Anything that you would like to see or do in the temple, I would be happy to provide. Or we could just, err, chill?" Did Issei sound as awkward as he felt? Probably.
no subject
"You're too modest," he pointed out with a shrug, but he changed the subject fairly quickly to answer Issei's question.
"You haven't exactly given me the grand tour of this place."
no subject
He actually usually hosted people in his bedroom, but Kid would see that as a romantic adcance, and he just wanted Kid to feel comfortable so they could have a friendly, not romantic at all visit.

Kid peered into the hallway and tilted his hat back so he could see better.
"Your room is down there?" To be fair, Kid had invited many of his guy friends to hang out in his room with him before. It just seemed natural at this point for him to be invited in (and completely non-romantic).

"If we go down the hallway a bit, you can see the gardens out the back windows. I'm mostly the one who maintains them."
no subject
"Oh, so you're the temple gardener," he teased.
no subject
The garden looked well-kept and neatly trimmed. Blooming flowers of various kinds were arranged aesthetically throughout it. Issei mumbled, "...would you like one?"
no subject
And then, he stopped and blinked. Awkwaaaard. "Ah... no, that's quite alright, I have several of my own!"
no subject
Clearing his throat, he went on. "The front side of the temple is also lovely. I assume you saw the lake as you came in."
no subject
"I did," he said with a nod, "A nice touch to the... ah, ancient architecture, I suppose."
no subject
He added, "With the lake, and the woods around the temple, monks have no excuse to not appreciate the beauty of nature. I'm lucky to live in such a place. Ah, but perhaps at the moment you would rather appreciate the beauty of indoor heating? The woods will have to wait."
no subject
Though he had to admit he preferred the bustle of the city.

/knows very little about Buddhist ceremony
/knows less than you probably
/has Googled a ton of things, but half of them were 'how gay is Japanese Buddhism?'
... fffffffffft
It was really gay, at times. Just so you know.
No wonder Issei is so gay
A quick subject changed was in order. "Is there anything else here I should see?"
Exactly~
Issei felt great pride in their temple's library. It could hardly be faulted for size, and he was sure that even Kid could find something in there to appreciate.
no subject
And the monk was right; the library was huge. He could spend hours here.
"You don't mind if I look around, do you?" Though he was already heading toward the nearest bookcase.

Most of the religious books wouldn't have been much use to him, nor would the novels Issei kept around for pleasure. There were, however, a few books in the front that Issei had somehow acquired (more like stole from his archrival): books that talked about things like the Mage's Association, Clock Tower, and the magical properties of gems. With a little searching, Kid would soon find out that not only were the famous gems more likely to be magical, but even ordinary ones could be.

... why hasn't he thought about heisting here before?

It looked like he was going to heist on this world soon, after all.

Kid's expression turned amused. "Bass-kun, am I correct?"
