Tyki always enjoyed showing off - and the fabulous Caribbean island that Zechs had given him for his birthday was one of his favourite things to show off.

When he picked Issei up he'd made sure the boy packed a few things - including a bathing suit. And now they stood in sandals on the white sand, a few hundred metres from his breezy beachhouse.

"Of course," he said, tightening his arm around Issei's shoulders and grinning. "It's not a very big island. You can walk all the way around it pretty easily. But there's a very nice view on the other side, where the cliffs are. Do you want to see that? Or would you rather go for a swim?" He gestured to the turquoise water in front of them, crashing lazily onto the sand.

"I'd love to swim!" Issei said cheerfully and loudly, and then a bit more demurely added, "Ah... only if you come along and join me, of course. I came primarily to see you, even if your island is wonderful."

Tyki beamed. If there was one thing he loved about Issei, it was his enthusiasm. "I have every intention of coming along," he said. "Come on. No reason not to go right in."

He grabbed the boy's hand and headed for the surf.

Issei grinned and raced along the sand, clutching Tyki's hand. As soon as they reached the water, his grin widened. "It isn't at all cold! Must be part of being a Caribbean island."

"That's one of the best things about the Caribbean," Tyki agreed with a laugh, wading into the foaming water with the boy next to him. He sank down to his chin and let himself float, bobbing in the waves.

"So what was so traumatizing about the virus?" he asked curiously.

"Eh? No, nothing's traumatizing about the virus. It was finding that picture afterward of that pillow that scarred me," Issei explained, splashing around a little. "How would you feel if - no, that's not a good question to ask you."

Tyki laughed. "I'd think it was brilliant, though no substitute for my actual self," he said, answering the unasked question.

"But then, that's what you said, too," he added with a teasing smirk. "So maybe we aren't that different after all."

"That isn't what I meant!" Issei protested, flailing about in the water. He dipped below the surface at one point and came up spluttering. "I don't want to do those things with everybody, just with you!"

Tyki reached out and snagged the boy by the waist, tugging him in close and supporting his weight in the salty water. "Hmmm...? And what about your boyfriend?" he teased. "Have you changed your mind?"

"I... I can cuddle with whoever I want," weakly replied Issei, leaning his head against Tyki's chest. "It's a platonic cuddling, really."

"Platonic," Tyki echoed, his voice rumbling against Issei's ear through his chest. "Too bad your boyfriend isn't more open-minded. I wouldn't mind bringing him along, too. If you ever wanted to do something more than platonic."

"Y-you can call him if you want and ask, but I think the answer will be no." Issei sighed. "...it's a shame. You really are quite attractive, and I hope you don't mind me saying that."

The smile Tyki gave Issei was both smug and pleased. "I don't mind you saying that, so long as you don't mind me saying that you're attractive, too."

He grinned. "And I have a feeling your boyfriend would be more likely to be persuaded by you, not me."

"I don't know why you think that," Issei murmured, "but I suppose I don't nind exactly."

"B-but I'm not good at talking people into sex," he pointed out. "Not like you must be."

Tyki laughed, giving Issei a squeeze. "I'm not the only one who thinks that. Eventually you're going to have to accept it as truth."

He rolled his eyes. "But you love him, right? And he loves you. He wants to make you happy."

Issei eeped. "N-not if I can help it."

"Yes, yes, and yes, but he is also painfully insecure. If I suggest to him a threesome, he is more likely to want to break up with me because he isn't good enough for me and I'd be happier with you," Issei explained. "You see the issue?"

"Why not?" Tyki ruffled his damp hair, grinning. "What's wrong with thinking yourself attractive?"

"Hmm..." He bobbed in the water, leaning back a little and looking up at the blue sky in thought. "I do see the issue, believe me. But if I suggest it, isn't he likely to just say no? I haven't really spoken to him that much, and it'd be a strange thing for a stranger to ask out of the blue."

He shrugged. "I guess I'll just have to get to know him."

"I'll get a swollen head, and then I really won't be attractive any longer."

Issei raised an eyebrow. "Don't make it sound like such a chore. He's a very nice person, and cuter than me. You'll like each other, I'm certain."

Tyki laughed. "I know I'm attractive, but I still am, right? I can't imagine you getting too arrogant to be pretty, Issei."

He sobered a little and shook his head. "I didn't mean it like that. I'm sure I will like him... I just haven't really had the opportunity to speak to him, I guess. He's not as vocal on the community as you are, I think."

"That's different," Issei complained, splashing Tyki with a little water. "Knowing you're attractive suits you."

"No, he isn't. I wish he had more friends, truly." Issei perked up a little. "If you get to be friends with him, I'm sure we could work something out as your reward from me to you."

Tyki rolled his eyes, wiping the salty water from his face. "While it is endearing how modest you are, you could stand to be a little more realistic," he told him.

He perked up at this. "What kind of reward?"

"Whatever you say," Issei answered, clearly not listening to him.

"Whatever reward you like. I'm a good boyfriend, so Haruto's happiness is paramount." Issei smiled. "What is your desire?"

Blink. Blinkblink. "Mmmm..." he purred, drawing Issei a little closer. "If I didn't already know you wanted to keep things platonic, you know what I'd say in response to an offer like that."

Issei swallowed. "If that was what I needed to do to make him happy, I would agree. I just... I only want him to be happy, and he does need friends."

Tyki sighed, then gave Issei a kiss on the forehead. "You're very sweet," he said. "I'm not going to take a reward like that in exchange for doing something I'd do anyway. But I can't promise anything. All I can promise is to say hello - I can't promise to like him."
