[RL - this is totally not a date.]

Some people had no sense of proportion.

Hakuba Saguru was apparently one of those people. Issei hadn't been lying when he said that even a fast-food place would have been good enough for him, but no. Hakuba wanted to go to Paris. And while there was nothing wrong with Paris, aside from the fact that Issei wouldn't be able to read any of the menus, it did make him feel like something of a gold-digger.

Well, there was nothing that could be done about it now, he thought, waiting outside the entrance of the temple with his borrowed book in hand. If that's where Hakuba wanted to go for their friendly outing, that's where they would go. Even if it was completely unnecessary.

"If you want me I can order for you..." The boy grinned mischievously, stepping out of the car as well. "If you're not afraid of me ordering somethings nasty for you like Escargots."

(ooc: escargots:snails, it's a french dish)

"I already told you that the food wasn't very important," Issei answered calmly. "Besides which, I doubt you'd buy me anything truly awful."

((I knew that!))

"I will not, don't worry. And the escargots are supposed to be a great dishes but.." Hakuba made a face, escargots where not on his favourite food list. "Where do you want to start?"

"I have no idea," Issei admitted. "What's nearby? I suppose we should start from there."

((It's all right~))

"Uhm...let's see..Paris is the city of a thousand clichés - the ‘City of Lights', and Hemingway's much quoted ‘Moveable Feast' amongst them, but for once it is also a city that justifies the hype.The compact center is easily navigable on foot, the lifeblood River Seine splits the city neatly in two and the useful arrondissements system neatly carves Paris into manageable chunks. We can explore the city’s avenues and backstreets as if the tip of the Eiffel Tower or the spire of Notre Dame wasn’t about to pop into view at any moment. Paris is enchanting almost everywhere."

"...Hakuba, I hope you're not expecting me to come up with a suggestion based off of only that."

Hakuba looked at Issei, an eyebrow quirked . "Let's just go to the center, and then we can visit the monuments."

"Sounds fine to me," Issei agreed.

"Perfect then."

(ooc: do you want to move along and say that they already visited all that places and now are on the restaurant?)

Issei smiled at his friend. "Please lead the way."

((That sounds best, especially considering that I know nothing about Paris.))

after hours visiting the city, they were finally relaxing in a fancy restaurant that have the menu in different language, so it wasn't a big deal to know what they were going to order.

"I think that I will go for the Blanquette de veau. What about you Issei?

"The pot au feu looks least intimidating," Issei replied, relieved to recognize at least something on the menu. He knew what beef was, and he knew what vegetables were, so he would probably be fine.

Hakuba looked over his menu to face Isse, an smirk on the corner of his lips. "Less intimidating? I never knew that you was afraid that French food would try to eat you instead of the other way around."

"I wouldn't go that far," Issei scoffed. "As a monk, I'm just used to eating more simple foods than this."

"I know Issei, but food it's just food. Don't you like to try new thing from time to time?" Hakuba gave him a suggestive eyebrow waggle.

Issei replied, "Of course I do, but- why are you waggling your eyebrows at me."

Hakuba chuckled. "For nothing, Issei." A waiter approached them and asked what they wanted in a polite French accent. Hakuba turned back to Issei. "Do you want me to tell him your order too?"

"I would appreciate that, thank you," Issei replied.

Hakuba nodded with an smile and told the waiter their order, once he was gone the blonde boy relaxed on the seat. "Do you liked the city?"

"It was beautiful. Thank you again for inviting me," Issei replied, smiling at his friend.

He returned the smile. "I'm just glad to know you liked it. I don't hang out with my friends very often." He keep to himself the fact that the relation with his others 'friends'was a bit particular, with Kuroba being a thief, Tyki having DSM, Zechs and Rufus being always busy and Hieji being...Heiji.

"You probably do so more than I spend time with mine - outside of school, I mean," Issei corrected. "I guess if there's anything good about this community, it led to me socializing a bit more."

"If I was you I wouldn't be that sure." Hakuba replied, wryly. "But you're right about the last part. Good bless the few good thing of the community."

"I'll drink to that," Issei agreed.
