In this day and age, most people have an aversion to eating individual animals that they have seen alive and moving around. Particularly, they don't want to eat supposedly 'cute' animals such as cats, dogs, hamsters, and rabbits.

But really. Talking about eating something that is small and cute and instills people with the desire to protect doesn't win you any favors, so if anyone else has a rabbit, I'd suggest not advising them to eat it.
