[RL with Lancer - first date.]

Issei was nervous. He didn't remember being this nervous since his first date with Haruto, years ago. He was fidgeting for reasons other than the mild cold as he waited outside his temple gates.

What was he going to do? He had only a vague idea of what to do and what if Diarmuid didn't like any of his plans? What if he made him upset?

He didn't want to ruin their friendship. Not at all.

Issei let out a sigh. "He should be here soon... I'll have to stop panicking by then."

Diarmuid didn't say anything just yet, listening attentively as Issei spoke.

"Near Ursa Major is another set of stars, appropriately named Ursa Minor. As I recall, the story of those two in Greek myth goes that Zeus pursued a woman named Callisto, and his jealous wife Hera turned her into a bear. Later Callisto encountered her son while he was out hunting..."

Issei picked out the constellations he recognized and explained the stories he remembered.

"You know quite a lot about this." he remarked at last, sounding impressed.

"I study religion and philosophy, but mythology is a secondary passion," Issei answered with a small smile.

"You seem quite clever, I think."

"If I do well enough to be praised by you, I'm doing marvelously."

[croibhristeoir]

"I am flattered that you think so."

[unknownrival]

"You deserve all my praise, Diarmuid."

[croibhristeoir]

"Please, you're too kind." Lancer shook his head slightly, an almost sad smile on his face.

He knew sad people when he saw them.

"Don't give me that look."

"Is there something wrong?"

[unknownrival]

"You're sad while on a date. Tell me why so I can fix it."

[croibhristeoir]

"I am not upset, Issei. Merely...confused."

"Why?"

[croibhristeoir]

"I am just not sure why you are persistently kind to me when I have done so little worthy of it."

[unknownrival]

"Enough of that. You are worthy of my feelings."

[croibhristeoir]

"Why do you think that, Issei?"

[unknownrival]

"You're kind, and noble, and intelligent and you give so much of yourself, and you're strong and brave and handsome and you have so much that I admire."

"..."

Lancer didn't respond to that, just pulled his knees to his chest and folded his arms with a thoughtful look.

"Diarmuid...?"

Issei just wanted him to be happy, darn it.

"Hm?"

He glanced over, seemingly brought out of whatever line of thought he'd been on.

"Please just tell me how to make you happy..."

"...I wish that I knew the answer to that, Issei."

[unknownrival]

"Is there anything that would do a little?"

[croibhristeoir]

"Just being here for a moment's rest is more than I could ever ask of you."
