Let's look at the outcomes there are to this right now.

One, he creams the guy you're sayin' not to kill, but he gets back up and now he's got a reason to start hurtin' people you know. Lance in particular. You got faith in Lance, sure, but all it'll take's one inconvenient virus for him to get it turned around. Then there's everyone else you know. Back in the same boat that you're goin' after him over. You call yourself an idiot 'n cry over being bad at this whole monk thing. Lance feels like shit 'cause even if he goes in and.... lances... he couldn't really do shit to make his master happy.

Two, he gets his ass kicked and you feel like double shit.

Three, you go in like a man, throw your own punches with your own hand, and figure you pain you get out of it's enough suffering that you don't gotta kick yourself later. You think his pride'll let him go for your friends to get to you when you had it in you to go to him yourself?

I don't like three. Three has a high likelihood of death. Two won't happen. One is the only concern.

One, I don't trust him, two, this would inevitably result in Diarmuid getting involved anyway.

He can be there to cover your ass in case it goes sour, if you trust him not to snap and attack the guy for hitting you. If you don't trust him to watch that, I can be a stand in for you. Since it's an agreement he made with me, it'd be a problem if he welched... two guys you hate going at each other... it's win-win for you.
