Deep breaths. Deep, calming breaths.

Issei waited at the bottom of the stairs to the temple, expecting Haruto to arrive at any moment. It wouldn't do for him to see Issei panicking - he wanted Haruto to be as at ease as possible, and knowing the other boy, him panicking would probably make Haruto panic.

Deep breaths. It was just Haruto; there was absolutely nothing to worry about.

Haruto was happy he managed to find a way to get to Issei-kun. Since the first time he did it wasn't necessarily voluntary, this time it was, and this time - he was more nervous.

With a loud squeak Haruto landed on the ground and stumbled slightly before he landed on his knees at the foot of the temples stairs.

"Ooowww..." he groaned softly, shifting to rub his knee, "That hurt. I must have landed on a rock."

That hadn't been how he was expecting Haruto to arrive. "Haruto?!" Issei knelt beside him quickly. "A-are you all right? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to have a rock there..."

Haruto flinched at Issei's voice and his face flushed almost instantly. He blinked at him and nodding, smiling.

"I-I'm fine. I just lost my balance is all." he assured him.

"I'm glad you're fine, then." Issei extended a hand to help him up. "It's nice to see you."

Haruto gave a soft laugh and smiled, "T-Thank you."

He took the offered hand and stood smiling at him.

"Nice to see you too, Issei-kun."

"The restaurant isn't too long a walk from here," Issei explained, "so I hope you won't mind the walk?"

He was feeling more relieved already. He knew how to talk to Haruto, he could do this.

Haruto smiled at him and nodded. He was comfortable, surprising, with new information in his mind, it didn't seem to phase him at all.

"Oh, no. I don't mind walking, at all." he assured him brightly.

Issei smiled back and began to walk. "Fuyuki is a beautiful town, in my opinion at least, so the trip shouldn't be too boring. How have you been?"

Haruto was happy to see that there were no awkward emotions between them.

"I'm sure it will be." he agreed brightly, and gave a soft hum thinking.

"Everyone at school is still talking about the - uh - me coming to school drunk." he replied laughing nervously and rubbing the back of his neck.

"They'll forget about it in time," Issei assured him. "I know it seems embarrassing now, but gossip always dies down. You don't need to worry."

"They all seem to enjoy the viruses that happen to me." he replied, looking down and then back up to him.

"But yes... They do seem to forget easier now that it's happened more than once. They don't linger on it for weeks like they had the first time."

"There, you see? Things will get better. And besides..." Issei chuckled, a bit nervously. "A lot of people who aren't affected by the viruses enjoy them. It's nothing personal, really."

Haruto gave a laugh in reply and smiled at him.

"As I noticed. That and watching other people recover from them. I'm glad what happened wasn't too bad."

Issei smiled in return, feeling his cheeks start to heat up. "I'm glad, too. I don't like hearing that you're being made fun of."

Haruto hadn't noticed the tint, he was actually rather okay being in Issei's presence. And was happy that it was of his own free will this time.

"Oh, it happens a lot to me. I guess, I should be used to it, by now." he replied sheepishly, looking back down.

Without thinking, Issei rested one hand on his shoulder. "I don't want you to have to get used to it."

Haruto blinked and looked up at Issei when he touched his shoulder. Without knowing his cheeks tinted a pink.

"I-I'll be fine." he squeaked softly, "Th-thank you, though, Issei-kun."

"Y-you're welcome." Noticing Haruto's blush and stammer, Issei let his hands drop to his sides. "Um, please let me know if anything I say or do makes you uncomfortable. I know what it's like to be on the receiving end of that, so..."

Haruto blinked with curiosity.

"N-no. Don't worry, I'm fine." he assured him holding up a hand.

"What do you mean?" he asked, tilting his head slightly.

Issei sighed. "Some of my friends enjoy getting a rise out of me. I know they don't mean any harm by it, but I don't appreciate being teased."

"No. I don't think anyone does - I hope they do it too often." he added, softly, looking up at him.

I better decide what kind of restaurant it is now.

"It doesn't happen often, really," Issei assured him. "Ah, we're almost here. I said it wasn't a very long walk."

Haruto offered him a sheepish smile, hoping that he was right. He didn't want Issei to go through the same thing he did everyday. His thought process was broken when he realized they hadn't walked that far.

"Oh. You're right." he smiled, beaming like he usually did and smiled over at him.

I'm just making this up as I go along.
