[RL - Tea with Vanessa after lunch.]
Hopefully this would go better than Vanessa's last visit.
Issei sat on the top step of the ones leading up to the temple. Let's see, he'd confirmed that Vanessa would be dressed appropriately, he'd warned the other monks that a woman would be having tea with him, and he'd steeled himself for being teased nigh-constantly during the visit. Unless he was forgetting something, he was ready to receive his guest.

"Yeah, I'll be fine," she replied, waving her hand dismissively. "It's only a flesh wound."

She looked at the spot where the blood had been before looking at the bandaging over her own palm. There were a few medium-sized blotches of red showing through, but she couldn't see what was underneath. Perhaps she'd call Franken and see if he could stitch it up for her...without the tests on her...sexual state, that is. If that was even possible for when the two of them met up.
"Sorry about that. I can replace the teacup."

He wasn't cut out for this, obviously. He'd already injured his guest and offended her sensibilities. What next, insult her occupation?

"Oh no, no no no, it's not your fault in the least, Issei, please don't think that."

Like she wasn't doing with Albert and William and Excella. She already told Excella she didn't endorse it...but what on earth could she actually do to get them to stop?
Nothing.

After all, he could barely help the people close to him. If something horrible were to happen, wouldn't it be out of his reach?

She sighed. "And there's...nothing I can do about it. Not a thing."

He wasn't confident in his own ability to help, but he hated to give up hope. If this place existed, than anything could happen, and anything could be stopped.

She sighed, a fake smile crossing her pleasant features. "But I would never do that. I'm a coward. I'd rather just tell him tidbits of info, stay on his good side, and not get my throat slit again."

He didn't deal with mass murderers often, but he knew what regretting doing nothing felt like. Oh yes.

She looked back over at her hand, seeing the blotches already turning a darker shade. "More tea, maybe? I promise not to treat the cup like my pencils this time."

"So what's your boyfriend's name anyway?" she asked after a long moment, turning to watch his short, lean body look around for a cup. Cute kid.

She smiled, hiding the bit of sadness she felt. "It's hard for me with William. I just want to be around him all the time. Or did."

He probably shouldn't comment about how she had wanted to spend all her time with the crazy person. He was rapidly discovering that there was a lot about her life that he didn't want to talk about.

She noticed his reddening and hid her face by taking another sip of the tea. He was just too damn cute.
