unknownrival: (Surprised. Howah!?)

[Accidental Video Post]

[This video, unlike most of the others, has a timestamp in the lower right corner. Right now, it's 8:35 PM, and Issei is lying on his futon in his sleeping yukata, obviously trying to get to sleep.

He closes his eyes. A few seconds after he does so, he lets out a yelp and jolts awake, breathing heavily.

The video skips to a few more times: 10:17, 11:20, 12:30. Each time, the process is repeated: Issei shuts his eyes, clearly tired, but every time he does some nightmare shocks him awake.

At the last one, he sighs and starts to speak.]

This can't go on. I need to find some way to get to sleep. Something to protect me from... from that. But I'm far too old to sleep in the room of any of the other monks, or even my family. I don't have a dog to curl up with, I won't call Haruto at this hour and for this reason, and I can't think of any other way to make my consciousness relax-

[He lifts his head, and stops. He's staring at his Christmas present from Kaito: a small Kid plushie. Blushing slightly, he continues:]

...at this point, I would try anything. If, if he were here, Kid would protect me, wouldn't he? And he shouldn't be able to take offense at that, so...

[Issei stands up and pulls the plushie off the shelf. No sooner does he lie back down and cuddle with it than he's fast asleep. The video continues for a few minutes to prove this, then dissolves into static.]

((All replies will come after he wakes up for the day. ...Which will be quite a bit later than his day should actually start (in two and a half hours).))

I'm sure there are medicines in your nearby pharmecy that can make sleeping easier.

[identity profile] stripping.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, but that doesn't solve the underlying problem. I'll resort to them if I need to.

...I personally find distractions help. Work, for example. Or physical labor.

I've been occupying myself with others' needs for a while now. I might resume my chores in the temple, if it doesn't seem as though I would break something doing so.

[identity profile] stripping.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I think so. It's better than nothing, at least.

[identity profile] stripping.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you for the advice.

[identity profile] stripping.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
...I'm sorry, I'm not much of a conversationalist. I really have no knowledge of what to say next.

[identity profile] calculatus.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Words aren't always necessary. I never understood why some people found it an absolute to perpetuate a conversation when it could be considered as finished.

[identity profile] stripping.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Would you say that this one is?

[identity profile] calculatus.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps.

That would depend on whether or not you wish to further discuss conversational etiquette.

[identity profile] stripping.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
If you would prefer to continue the discussion, by all means, we can continue it. If you would rather let it drop, I would find that an acceptable solution as well.

[identity profile] calculatus.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
You're agreeable. You seem agreeable by nature.

Do you fear conflict?

[identity profile] stripping.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I don't. But I don't see the point in having conflict when it's unneeded and unimportant.

...iyaaan, icon keywords.

[identity profile] stripping.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
You seem fairly agreeable yourself.

LMAO I WAS HOPING YOU WOULDN'T NOTICE

[identity profile] calculatus.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't find it worth my effort to get upset over things.

If you wanted to sex me up, all you had to do was say so. No need to be coy.

[identity profile] stripping.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
An admirable philosophy, as well. A monk should be like that.

:|||||| I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT COY MEANS DON'T PLAY WITH ME

[identity profile] calculatus.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
You might say my family...follows similar practices.

Awww, darn.

[identity profile] stripping.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Did you inherit being a police officer from them?

8)

[identity profile] calculatus.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
My father was in a seat of power where he could grant me the necessary position. I don't know if inheriting is the right term.
