...Okay, a virus is a bad example. What if you didn't know it was a virus or he was brainwashed or something?

Still remove myself from the situation - I'm not stupid. Presume that something was wrong with him and wait for an apology. This 'you fall for people who can hurt you' argument works better if you pick someone likely to hurt me.

More or less the same thing at first. You usually don't hurt me, so I wouldn't expect that you were in your right mind. But if it turned out that you were... I don't know, not be quite as eager to spend time with you.

Alight, fair enough. Now let's say instead of me physically injuring you, I just insulted you a lot. What do you do then?
