It was a wonderful gift to just have a temple and be able to drag anyone he wanted to it with no questions asked by the monks - all of them knew about the strangeness of the community by now, so one man in armor barely raised eyebrows amongst them.

Issei racketed through a closet full of clothes, occasionally pulling out sets he thought were in Lancer's size. "Let's see... The selection is more limited than I'd remembered, but you should have a decent choice of what to wear from these. My apologies, I thought there were more."

Issei felt like fistpumping. Instead he merely smiled and went on, "What do you think of the temple?"

"It's...different, I can say that much. I don't believe we had much like this back at home. And I've not yet been in this part of Fuyuki for very long, never mind that I'm uncertain about how much it's changed--will change, I mean."

"This half of Fuyuki, unlike the other half, is remarkably like it was ten years ago. The only new and different thing in the temple is that its head monk has changed recently."

Preening would be unbecoming of a monk.

"I see. I didn't investigate the city itself very thoroughly, just a general search for other Servants. I suppose ultimately I've not been around very long."

"Relax a little for the moment, then. It is a beautiful city, in my opinion, but I'm biased."

"I'm quite relaxed."

As close as he'd get, anyway.

"I preferred my home country, but I admit it is a nice location."

"Where are you from?" Issei asked, forgetting momentarily the 'Servants are secret' thing.

"Let us just say that 'far away' is a safe enough answer for now."

"Ah, right, that whole 'secrecy' part, I'd almost forgotten so quickly."

"I don't really like hiding my name, but my Master's wish is to preserve secrecy in this war. Didn't stop Saber from figuring it out, but she's clever."

"She really is. It's a shame I met her only briefly, but I'm glad she was there for Shirou - ah, sorry, you wouldn't know who that is."

"Judging by time differences, you're more than likely talking about the fifth Saber anyway."

"Unless yours was King Arthur, yes, I'm talking about the fifth Saber."

He knew a little from interrogation.

"You mean to tell me she was summoned twice in a row?"

"Apparently. Is that unusual - how many possible Sabers are there?"

"The Throne of Heroes holds all possible heroic spirits from all times and countries across the world. Of those heroes, while it is safe to say many are skilled in the art of the sword, there are a handful that can be called 'masters' of the craft."

Lancer spoke carefully, looking thoughtful as he did.

"For example, while I myself know how to use swords, I do not know if I would be qualified enough to be a Saber as she is. When placed beside her knowledge of a blade, my own is minuscule in comparison and I truly think there are none who can match her with a sword.

However, and this is my point, across time and space even a small amount of those called 'heroes' is no small number in itself. Least of all when swords are such common weapons. Therefore, I find it safe to assume there are many possible Sabers, among them the strongest and most famed heroes ever to walk the earth."

"Huh. So the odds are small, but still, it's not impossible-"

Issei cocked his head. "I hear the sounds of a deliveryperson grumbling about climbing the temple steps and who would order pizza to a place like this. Wait just one moment."

And he was off to greet the pizza person.

Lancer waited in silence, looking awkward and just slightly fidgeting.

Returned: one Issei, carrying a box that opened to reveal a large cheese pizza, which he set down in front of Lancer before fetching some cheap plates to also set down.

"We don't order out much. It's usually cheaper to make something ourselves."

"...What on earth is that?"

"This is a cheese pizza. It's food, and the best way to explain a pizza is to make you have a slice. Go on."

"Are you sure of that? It doesn't look entirely edible."

"Yes, I'm completely sure. I've had it many times in my life and it's very popular."
