I'd say it goes for all the worlds. You just live in an area full of interesting people. There's pockets of them all over; this place just gets the ones in America and Japan.

Right! Almost everyone is from that time period! And the people who aren't have characteristics similar to that time period, or come from a 'canon' in that time period!
