The elections for Student Council, and more specifically Student Council President, are almost upon us. I - it would be lying to say that I didn't feel a bit nervous. But that's healthy.

I trust I can count on a few of your votes? Remember that students must vote to fully use their power in the school system, etc., etc., you've all heard the morning announcements about why you should participate in the election.

Naturally, I want the student council to become more involved with the issues facing the student body. Our duty is to act as a liaison between the students and the faculty, and so far we have not done enough to make the voice of the students heard while keeping the concerns of the staff in mind.

As student council president, I will also resolve to decorate the school's special events more tastefully, and not have a repeat of the Sadie's Dance fiasco of last year, which I am sure I do not need to elaborate on.
