[Issei is shaking with the force of his sobs. He's obviously been crying for a while.

Eventually, the sobs slow down enough for him to get some words out in between them.]

That wasn't me. The person who hospitalized my father and brother, who drove the other monks to attack each other, who spoke to you all so cruelly - that wasn't me. I could never do such a thing to my family!

Why, wh-why did this happen? What did I possibly do to deserve anyone's ire enough for them to do this? Why did I fail my family and let this happen?! I should have resisted, I should have...

Father... R-Reikan-nii...

[And he bursts into a fresh wave of tears.]

My father and my brother are unconscious and in the hospital. They should be fine, with treatment.

That's good. I believe Akako-san's potions reduce scarring by a great deal, too. One of the many benefits of magical healing.

What about yourself? You haven't suffered any physical damage, have you?

No, I'm completely fine. ...Physically, that is. Inside, it's...

Hey... With everyone recuperating, the temple must be rather empty. Would you like to stay at the estate for the night? We can go visit the hospital first thing in the morning.

[identity profile] stripping.livejournal.com 2010-03-13 07:41 am (UTC)(link)
...I would like that. Thank you, Naoto.

Don't mention it. You'll have Matt and Mello to keep you company, along with Holmes and Watson.

I'm so glad to have you all around, to take care of me in my hour of need.

That's what friends are for, right? You'd do the same for me if the situation was reversed.

I think I'll postpone my trip to the temple until Sunday, given the circumstances. You need time to rest and recuperate, after everything that's happened.

[identity profile] stripping.livejournal.com 2010-03-13 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course I would. It's good to have such reliable friends.

I'll look forward to seeing you. I might have less time than expected, since I'm technically in charge of the temple at the moment, but I can always make time for someone dear to me.

I understand. You suddenly have to shoulder a lot of responsibility right now. It will take time to adjust to it all.

I won't take up much of your time. Just a few prayers for my parents, that's all.

[identity profile] stripping.livejournal.com 2010-03-13 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course. You're always welcome at the temple, no matter what the circumstances.
