They're recognizable, at the very least after the fact. For viruses that are physical in nature, naturally it's easy to tell when when half the community reverts into a child or such. Mental viruses... it's difficult to convince someone while they're being affected that they're affected, but of course they recognize it afterward. And after a little while, the affected person's behavior can be forgiven.

None except leave the community permanently, which is usually difficult to do.

He's from another world, so you'd call it long distance. At least we get to speak to each other often. No, it's quite all right. I wouldn't have made a post if I weren't willing to answer questions.

A large amount of people find the site through it being the only one their computer - or any computer - will let them access. This condition is alleviated when they're committed enough to staying, but I imagine it would be the same for anyone attempting to leave. Of course, people have left the community, but that's usually unintentional.

Considering the convenience of worldhoppers, we're actually luckier than most long-distance relationships, even if we're literally worlds apart. I wouldn't take relationships that evolve on this community to be indicative of internet relationships as a whole. For one thing, our first meeting in-person was when we were forced to stay in physical contact or become ill, which doesn't happen to most people.

Hm, so are there are a large number of worldhoppers? Is it possible for those without the ability to gain that power?

Community members sometimes 'disappear', leaving the community without a word. It's usually, but not always, someone who hadn't been very active around the community lately. They can return later, or another version of them may come back with no memories of the place.

There aren't all that many, but someone's nearly always available. And it might be possible, but I don't know who you'd ask in order to gain the ability or something with the ability. Neither am I. This place has done wonders for my social life, really.

Just as there are multiple worlds, there are multiple versions of the same world. On this community, you might find people from your past or your future, or a different timeline entirely.

I'm sure if your need was great, someone could be convinced into assisting you in securing a method. It's easier for me to open up online, and I can be fairly... snappish in person. Besides, I'm better-disposed towards intellectuals such as yourself than to most people.

In that case, the occasional request for a worldhop from someone else should serve you well enough. I've heard the same about myself, and can't really disagree.

Which worldhopper do you normally call upon? I'd like to make sure the person I request such a service from is both honest and reliable.

Hakuba, a close friend of mine who I have already mentioned to you. I do warn you that his method of worldhopping can be a little, err, harrowing the first few times, especially if you don't know what's coming. I see... That's a shame. There are few things in life that can help you more or make you happier than a dear friend. Or at least, that's what I think.

Well, it's some form of teleportation magic, and usually done by a deity or mythological figure, or else by an object granted to someone else by one of those figures. Hakuba has a car, and I think someone else has a mirror capable of worldhopping? ...I see. Still, if the opportunity came along, it wouldn't hurt to grow closer to a few people.

Ah, yes. Minato-kun uses a mirror. I believe he mentioned it was granted to him by a deity...
