For the record, I do not work at a maid cafe or as a sky pirate, nor am I a fairy godparent or a squire to a knight. I am dating only one person, not a dozen, and his name is Diarmuid Ua Duibhne. I went to high school in Fuyuki, and never went to college or to Hogwarts. My family is limited to my father, Reikan-nii, and Kasumi-nee.

[Issei is taking down the month of February's page in his calendar. On the next page, the date of March 3rd has 'BIRTHDAY' written in blue, circled, and with sparkles around it.

Issei stares at it for a few moments, then goes to get a black marker. Scowling, he blacks out the entire square.]

As though that were any cause for celebration. Khh, happy birthday to me.

1. Anger. Anger is bad and unmonklike. I learned this when I learned what anger was. Ban Greed and Wesker from my journal. Do not reply to their posts. Not even if they're being absolute assholes. Especially not even then.
2. Violence. Violence is never the answer. Not even if you think that people will learn from it. Not even then.
3. I will be spiritually pure. I will not engage in selling my soul or tainting my body. I've been decent about not drinking, but I really need to spend less time talking to demons, even if they are nice people.
4. Did I mention no violence.
5. I will not swear. It is unbecoming even if it is a minor trait.
6. I will keep my mind from thoughts of sex. Fixation is the enemy even if the act itself is fine.
7. I think I broke rule 5 in this very post. Ugh.
8. Control myself. Do not be incited to anger or rage, jealousy, or any other negative trait that could be incited.
9. Think the best possible of people. In any situation.

10. Remember:
I am the head monk because of what amounts to politics. My presence, my Servant, my connection to the community represents a way to protect my temple and my city from other threats within my own world.

I am not the head monk because I am a good monk. I can either sit on my laurels or actually try to be a better monk like I've dreamed I would be when I grew up. I am grown up and I can't make the excuse that I'm young any longer. I can't make excuses at all.

This is the path I've chosen. Never stray from it.

Relatedly, I may need somebody dead. I know you don't want my soul, and I can't give my life because of Diarmuid. But there must be something.
